Use Cases
Pluely for Live Captions & Accessibility
The meeting platform your team switched to this quarter has worse captions than the last one — and your phone calls have none at all. Pluely makes captioning yours instead of the platform's: one always-visible overlay that transcribes any conversation your computer can hear, live, with clear speaker labels — the same experience on every call, in every app, every day.
Captions shouldn't depend on the platform
Built-in captions vary wildly between meeting apps, disappear entirely on phone calls and in-person conversation, and rarely make it clear who's speaking. Pluely captures your mic and system audio locally, so it captions anything your computer plays — Zoom, Meet, Teams, a browser call, a video — plus in-person conversation through your microphone. Speaker labels (Speaker 1, Speaker 2, …) keep multi-person conversations readable, and echo cancellation keeps the text clean.
Who this helps
- Deaf and hard-of-hearing users get a reliable real-time transcript of both sides of any call — no lip reading, no asking people to repeat themselves, no hoping today's platform captions work.
- People with auditory processing differences can read the conversation as it's spoken, at their own pace, instead of holding fast speech in working memory.
- Non-native speakers read along to catch words lost to background noise or a fast talker — in dozens of languages with auto-detect (Transcription languages).
- Anyone somewhere loud, where audio alone isn't enough.
Make it readable for you
The overlay adapts to how you read: sizes from S to XL, adjustable transparency, and a position you control — see The overlay and Settings & appearance. It stays always on top but never steals keyboard focus from the app you're working in, and customizable global shortcuts keep captions one keypress away.
More than captions
If something in the conversation is unclear, ask about it right in the overlay with Ask mode. Afterward, the full conversation is saved as a meeting you can reread at your own pace — or compress into a summary rather than rereading an hour of transcript. Nothing said in the moment is lost to the moment.
Set it up
- Switch to Listen mode and grant microphone + screen-recording permission so both sides of the call are captured.
- Size and position the overlay where you read comfortably, then press Start listening before the conversation begins.
- Read along with the live, labeled transcript as the conversation happens.
- Press Stop when it ends — the transcript saves automatically for rereading anytime, and a summary is one tap away.

- Clear speaker labels, which built-in captions rarely get right.
- A full saved transcript you can reread at your own pace.
