How to Manage Your Pluely Conversation History
Every Ask mode conversation is saved locally on your device — searchable when you need an old answer, deletable when you don't. It all lives in the dashboard's History & Library.
What gets saved
Every question you ask Pluely v1 — typed, spoken through push-to-talk, or triggered from a screen capture — is saved automatically to your local history. There's nothing to save manually; Pluely keeps a running library of Ask conversations so you can search past answers instead of re-asking the same question twice.
Because history is stored locally on your device, it stays with your Pluely installation rather than on a remote server tied to your account.
Step-by-step: finding a past conversation
- Open the Pluely dashboard.
- Go to the History & Library section in the sidebar.
- Browse the list of saved conversations, ordered by date with the most recent at the top.
- Use search or filters to narrow to a specific topic or date range if your history is long.
- Click into a conversation to view the full exchange — your original question and Pluely's answer.
Step-by-step: revisiting and reusing a past answer
- Open the conversation from the History & Library list.
- Read back through the question and answer as originally captured.
- Copy any part of the answer you want to reuse, just as you would from a live conversation.
- If the topic has moved on, start a fresh question in the overlay — history is for review, not resuming a days-old session.
Step-by-step: clearing history
- Open History & Library in the dashboard.
- Find the conversation (or conversations) you want to remove.
- Select the delete option next to the entry — or the bulk-clear option to remove everything at once.
- Confirm. Deleted history is not recoverable, so double-check before clearing anything you might want to reference later.
Why keep history around
A running library pays off whenever you ask similar questions repeatedly — pull up the previous answer instead of retyping context. It's also the quickest way to double-check something Pluely told you earlier without redoing the research from scratch.
Why clear it
Clearing is a matter of preference: keeping your library tidy, removing conversations tied to a finished project, or simply starting fresh. Clearing history doesn't touch your license, connected providers or CLI, or your customized shortcuts and settings — only the saved conversation records themselves.
Tips
- Search History & Library before re-asking a question you suspect you've already asked — it's often faster than typing it again.
- Periodically clear history from finished projects so a long list stays easy to search.
- If a past answer matters for ongoing work, copy it into a permanent notes location rather than counting on history staying untouched indefinitely.
- History is different from the Latest/All tabs in the answer panel — one is your saved library, the other is how answers display within an active session.
