File Uploads & Document Q&A

Attach a document and ask questions about it. Pluely reads the text out of your file so its answers are grounded in the actual content — no copy-pasting.

How to attach a document

  1. In Ask mode, use the attachment control in the composer (or drag a file onto the overlay).
  2. Pick a document — a PDF, a scanned page, or an image of text.
  3. Pluely processes it and shows a source chip. Once it's ready, type your question and send.

What you can ask

  • "Summarize this contract in five bullet points."
  • "What are the key dates in this document?"
  • "Explain section 3 like I'm not a lawyer."
  • "Pull out every action item assigned to me."

How it works

Pluely extracts the text from your document and includes it with your question, so the model answers from the real content. Very large documents are trimmed intelligently (the beginning and end are kept) so they fit — you'll still get a useful answer, and you can ask about specific sections.

Because Pluely keeps a compact excerpt with the conversation, follow-up questions about the same file keep working across turns and even after a restart.

Limits

  • Files up to 20 MB each. Larger files are rejected before any upload happens, so an oversized file never spends allowance.
  • Only successful extractions count toward your allowance — if reading a file fails, it costs you nothing.

Usage

File uploads are part of your plan's monthly allowance. You can see how many you've used on your plan-and-usage screen. Re-attaching a document already in your Library never spends a new upload. See Plans, usage & limits.

Tips

  • For scanned or photographed pages, make sure the text is legible — clearer input means better extraction.
  • Ask targeted questions ("what does the cancellation clause say?") for the sharpest answers.
